1.) Tatcha — The Silk Canvas Protection Primer
Originally saw this on Carli Bybel's channel; it's cruelty free, has a soft & velvety feel and a cool backstory... "the final step of the geisha’s skincare ritual—and the beginning of her makeup—is to press a thin layer of melted Japanese wax called Bintsuke into her skin. This soft layer creates a smooth, poreless canvas to help her makeup last all day and protect her skin beneath." Overall, this primer felt really nice on my skin and my makeup stayed more intact throughout the day.
2.) Lash Lift at Rise Beauty Studio
I saw a few YouTube videos on lash lifts and I thought they seemed like an interesting alternative to lash extensions. I made an appointment for a consult + lash lift at Rise Beauty Studio (located on Newbury Street - 4th floor walk-up). My stylist Elissa explained each step so I'd know what to expect and the whole process took about 20-25 minutes. They basically cleanse and set your lashes with two treatments. The end result is makes eyes look more lifted/awake and lasts 6-8 weeks. The lift is $55-$70 depending on your stylist, they accept tips through card, cash or Venmo.
